Our Fairfield plant is located just 1 mile west of I-77 in Ridgeway, South Carolina and about 28-miles north of downtown Columbia. With production initiating in 2023, Fairfield Plant can service the Columbia area and surrounding markets. Fairfield plant is well situated off I-77, and well outfitted to handle the expected growth along this corridor.

Fairfield mines a gneissic unit that includes both biotite gneiss and granite gneiss. This rock was formed by metamorphism of the Winnsboro-Rion granite pluton that was emplaced with 40 other granite plutons in the Carolina’s during the Alleghenian period 300 million years ago. The rock ranges in composition from biotitic to granitic characterized by biotite, quartz, and feldspar minerals.
